About Wyatt Sinfonia

Orchestra
London
Student orchestra based in London, with members drawn from conservatoires, universities and sixth forms, directed by Zoë Kundu.

Wyatt Sinfonia is a student orchestra with members drawn from conservatoires, universities and sixth forms, based in London. It is committed to playing lesser known works from across Europe, as well as new music and old favourites. It is looking forward to a performance of Pejacevic’s Symphony in F# minor in August, the London premiere of Pierné’s piano concerto and UK premiere of Albeniz’s Catalonia in 2019, as well as performances of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (orch. Ravel). Wyatt Sinfonia was founded by Zoё Kundu in 2018, and was born out of East London Symphony Orchestra. It is named after Mary Wyatt, who was a piano teacher and organist, and great-grandmother of Zoё Kundu.

What a fantastic evening! The concert on 30th August was worthy of any prestigious concert hall and to hear that music played so superbly and by such a young orchestra in our local church in Hackney was a real treat.

Wyatt Sinfonia is a new orchestra in more ways than one. The sinfonia employs many young musicians, including their conductor, Zoë Kundu, at the beginning of their careers. They regularly perform and promote both new music and some big old favourites.
