The Whoppee Makers are made up of professional musicians, all who have graduated from The Royal Welsh College Of Music and Drama. We formed while studying there together back in 2018. Since then we’ve played for many types of events: Weddings, Parties, Corporate events and Graduation Ceremonies. In 2019 we played to over thousand people in St Davids Hall as part of a Graduation Ceremony for The University of South Wales. We have a real passion for playing in the tradition, while also being excited to explore pop and contemporary material. Please feel free to request additional songs that aren’t on our song list and we’ll do our best to incorporate it into our set.

The jazz music on Friday nights at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff is full of nice surprises. The Whoppee makers group, under their leader Mani Layward W, delighted once more with their music, bringing New Orleans to the College hall. I think if we were outside, we could march behind them, with their rhythmic notes and delightful music. Their members can look to the future with confidence.
