I have played and sung all my life, as a solo artist and fronting a number of bands in South Wales and London. Originally performing my own songs in bands like Most People and The Single Factor I have always enjoyed performing great songs in my own style. I sang backing vocals with the wonderful Flomotion in Cardiff in the late '90's including performing at the first Cardiff festival on the main stage. Choosing songs from across the decades I try to focus on well known songs but ones that are less frequently performed. I'm a skilled guitarist and have chosen not to make use of backing tracks for my shows. Instead I use a few guitar effects but more importantly I strengthen my vocal sound with a vocal harmoniser which allows me to perform songs with great choruses. If you look at my videos you may notice me tapping a pedal now and then. The sound you hear in my videos is exactly what you will get from me at a live performance. I am happy to perform subtly to add to the atmosphere of an event but I really enjoy audiences and have a natural ability to engage with people to ensure that everyone has a great time.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I’m a great singer and use vocal effects to strengthen my choruses, which people love. I am told I have good, positive energy and I really enjoy engaging with the audience which people seem to like. People like that, even though I just play guitar and sing, I can still rock and get a room going.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Countless pubs and bars, many weddings but as a rock band front man up to now. Private parties from small numbers or several hundred people. Some classy restaurants and cocktail bars who wanted a live music vibe. Localised festivals. I’ve done some TV and radio work in the past.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I’m a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and love his energy for his audience and his efforts to engage them. Ben Folds is an American pianist and singer. He toured solo for years and I love his easy wit with audiences and his ability to be flexible with his set, depending on how it feels on the night.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I was in a band that supported Bucks Fizz at Cardiff University in the late ‘90’s (BF were an ironic booking…but classy. 3000 people). My band played to 500 people at the legendary Brangwyn Hall in Swansea for a 4 Nations Runners Dinner.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

“I always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.”

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am really happy to play music through my PA before and between sets on prior agreement at no additional charge. I don’t offer a DJ service.

How much time do you need to set up?

As a solo acoustic artist I am able to set up my equipment within 30mins.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am really happy for you to choose from my set list but I may persuade you to change things based on my experience is: Dakota always ends a show on a massive high 😊

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. I have top quality, portable equipment and can use my PA in a field as it has a three hour built in battery.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

With enough notice I will happily try to learn a particular song for no extra charge. I will be honest with you if I am unable to or if it just doesn’t work for me.

Tim was very accommodating, set up in no time and was very flexible with his sets. His singing and music was very well received. As background music it is unusual to get applause and Tim received great interaction from the audience. Several asked about his details for future events.

This guy's great - saw him play a set to a varied crowd, and he seemed to have something for everyone. Wasn’t really a dancing sort of do, but everyone danced anyway! Amazing what one guy and a guitar can do.
