About The Wall of Sound Singing Ensemble

Choir
London
A Cappella choir - versatile repertoire: Directed/coached/conducted by Sandra Scott

Since we began we have performed in many concerts from a supporting the comic Milton Jones to standing room only St Patrick's Day bashes to a more serene soiree in the wildness of Romney Marsh's medieval churches to a very special Carol concert for Esther Rantzen's charity Silver Line at the wonderful St Bartholomew the Great, singing at the Southbank in the Chorus festival and several performances at one of Europe's most prestigious choral festival Cork International Choral Festival. We try to match our vocal eclecticism with performing in interesting and atmospheric settings when we can. We have a great community of singers and always are keen to welcome more singers to our clan.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

As a choir, we are an acappella mixed voices in range and styles -- we have sopranos, atlos and male voices both tenor and baritone.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem! Let us know as soon as you do, so we can make the necessary re-arrangements.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Cureently, we don't provide this service.

How much time do you need to set up?

30mins to an hour to warm up and rehearse -- if we use our own PA system, we'll need an hour to set up and test, before we start -- after that, we're ready!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Unfortunately not, but we are a very friendly group! We're always so happy to meet and mingle with the guests!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course! We'd love to hear what you would love to hear! Let us know the kind of songs you are look for and we will craft a set list just for you -- if there is a specific song, or songs you are looking for, we can learn them -- given enough time to do so -- before the time of your event!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

If the venue of your event doesn't provide a PA, we can supply our own, provided by one of our memebers, so there's no need to charge -- it may make a slight difference in the travel expences, but overall, no.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes! As long as we're given enough notice -- depending on the difficulty of the song: Classical -- usually four months. Folk songs -- three months. Pop -- two months. Sing-along "ditties" -- one month, to a week. Our group ranges from pros' to amateurs, so everyone has their own set/level of music skills, but equal amounts of talent!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Personality -- we, the Wall of Sound, are a choir ensemble, with the arrangement of a pop group: each member, each voice, stands out on its own, like the individual they are and every member, if they wish, gets the chance to solo!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Theatres, such as the Hippodrone theatre in Eastbourn and Royal Festival Hall, and great churches, such as St Bartholamew the Great, St Bartholomew the Less, St Marys in Rye.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Singing chorus for Blake (classical-crossover trio) in 2016 and 2017 in Eastbourn.
