About The Old Time Wasters

Rip-roaring, foot-stomping, knee-slapping, rib-tickling Old-Time music and songs.
Americana band

The Old Time Wasters play and sing American traditional old-time music and songs drawn from the dark and dusty corners of the 20s and 30s string band repertoire, with the occasional detour into English music-hall. Their often eccentric and amusing selections are complemented with rock-solid rhythm and infectious three-part harmonies.

Chris A, 1 year ago

Steve Blake and his band the Old Time Wasters played at our festival Sweet Sunny South in September 2019. They did two excellent and very well received 45 minute sets of their own brand of traditional Appalachian Old Time string band music, flavoured with a pinch or two of quirky British Music Hall song from the early 20th Century. The trio are multi talented musicians who all sing, solo and in harmony and swap instruments frequently, which makes for a highly entertaining act. The band members all did very well attended workshops over the festival, all deeply appreciated by festival attendees. I very much hope that we will see them back at the festival in a few years time.
