The Ladenses 6 are a vocal group who met during their studies at the University of Leeds. Having formed in September, they have had a very successful first year of concerts, including Leeds University Union Music Society Ball, Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen Festive Feast and various weddings & cooperate events. Their own events aim to bring choral music to a wider audience by choosing unique venues and creating a relaxed performance environment. The Ladenses 6 enjoy exploring a range of styles and genres, moving from the likes of Byrd all the way to the Beatles. The group also enjoy creating their own arrangements of pieces, including 'Danny Boy', 'Strasbourg St. Denis' and 'Beyond the Sea'. The group are very excited that their work together will continue beyond university, and hope to bring their voices to new cities in the UK.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We are made up of 6 founders, however we do have a dep list in order to be able to increase our availability.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know and we will do everything we can to make it work.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually like to have a short rehearsal in the space, in order to get a feel for the acoustics and acclimatise. We would require a minimum of 30 minutes at any point on the day of an event.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course, our set list is a rough guide, however any requests (within reason) can be easily incorporated into a programme.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, as long as music is available, it's easily done! Alternatively, if there is a song you request that doesn't exist as a vocal arrangement, we may be able to arrange it (with enough notice, and small extra fee).

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We love to have fun on stage, and enjoy performing pieces that make people laugh. Equally, depending on the event, our connection as a group makes it easy for us to tailor our performance to the environment with ease. If a more serious demeanour (e.g. for a funeral) is required, we always aim to deliver our performance in the exact way a client prefers.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

This year we have focused on bringing choral music to new audiences in Leeds. By incorporating choral music into a contemporary/a cappella focused event, situated in pubs and cafés, we engage a new demographic, in a comfortable environment.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We are influenced by vocal groups such as Voces8, The Real Group, The Swingle Singers, Gesualdo Six, Take 6, Tenebrae, The Sixteen, etc.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The University of Leeds International Concert Series.

From customers:

Georgia S, 2 years ago

I hired The Ladenses 6 to sing alongside my Grassington choir in September, which was actually their first public performance. They impressed the choir and audience so much that we asked them back for our Easter concert which was even more impressive: a mixture of classical, contemporary and crowd-pleasers!

Martin N, 2 years ago

I've heard the The Ladenses 6 on several occasions. They're a very talented group of singers who tackle an impressively wide repertoire and deliver it all with a sense of enjoyment. Long may they continue to offer musical pleasure to their audiences!
