When two Irishmen, an Englishman, a Swiss guy and a Bulgarian all walked into a bar, no one could have predicted what would happen next...

Meet The Craicheads… The Craicheads play music to have fun to, pure and simple. When three Irishmen and two Englishmen all walked into a bar, no one could have predicted what would happen next. Those guys were The Craicheads – one of London’s hardest working bands – and the bar was Wards, the inspiration for ‘Take Me Back To Harrow’, one of the tracks on their debut album Brewed in London. After honing their craft in venues across the capital, the popular five-piece have now captured the fun and energy of their live set on record. Brewed in London is a reflection not only of the band’s rise through the London pub scene but also the diverse backgrounds of its members, who were brought together by their love for playing great music. A collection of original tracks and Irish crowd-pleasers, it includes the track ‘Take Me Back To Harrow‘ – which has been adopted by Harrow Borough Football Club club, as the club’s anthem. ‘Take Me Back To Harrow’ sums up what the band are all about. “It’s about finding a place to call home in a new neighbourhood”. Mick grew up in South London but has been warmly welcomed in Harrow. “There’s a great Irish community in Harrow and I feel so proud to live here and be part of it”. Meanwhile ‘Sligo Shore’ was penned by Eyles on a beach in Strandhill, Sligo. It conjures up sweeping ocean vistas, misty mountains and traditional sessions washed down with plenty of the black stuff and has become a firm favourite in the set. While the Irish influence looms large in all they do, the boys are nothing if not versatile – yes, you’ll hear the Celtic classics that fire up any party, but you’ll also be dancing to everything from bluegrass, folk, blues, country and good old-fashioned rock’n’roll. Just imagine The Pogues and Johnny Cash walked into a bar and fired up the tunes – That’s pretty close to what The Craicheads sound like! If you’re looking for a group to get the party started and keep it going ‘til the last person’s standing, you’ve found them. One of the hardest working bands in London, the Craicheads are constantly in demand playing in and around the capital and at functions and festivals throughout the UK. Great craic indeed and coming to a venue near you soon. Mick O’Beirne – vocals / guitar Ben Gunnery – fiddle / whistle / vocals Tim Eyles – guitar / mandolin Stefan Marinov – bass / vocals Olivier Aslan – drums / vocals
