Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I use four beaters instead of two which allows me to fill out my sound with chords as well as melody. This can make it sound like more than one person playing.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've performed at a huge variety of venues from large concert halls to prviate gardens, cruise-ships to canal barges, wedding venues, stately homes, very small settings to large festivals.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I have been influenced by many different artists from so many genres it would be too hard to list!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The most proud I've felt was performing solo at a presentation event in London, I played 'Soul Limbo' (the BBC Test Match Cricket music) as a play on for the entrance of Sir Garfield Sobers. Also, at a private event, when singer Billy Ocean stood and watched me play for several minutes before telling me he really liked my pan playing. The highest profile was

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'm always happy to discuss changes and try to remain as flexible as possible to meet client needs before and on the day.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am happy to provide background music between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually set up time is between 30 minutes and an hour dependent on parking and access.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am happy to discuss personalised song choices from the list I offer.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

All equipment is provided by me, including a battery amp if needed meaning I don't have to be positioned near to mains power.

Yes, I'm happy to learn a specific song or two for an event.

Jim performed on steel pans at our travel company launch event, adding a fabulous tropical-sounding atmosphere to the proceedings. He was punctual, professional, courteous with our customers and staff and his music was exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend him for any event.
