As a composer, Sean Salamon's music has been performed by ensembles in fifteen countries throughout the world. But Salamon is equally at home in the world of performance-- both as a member of the London Philharmonic Choir, and as the founding member of Ping (pingvoices.com), a five-voice early music/new music ensemble with whom he has held residencies at classical festivals in the United States and premiered eight new works by young composers. From 2013 to 2014, he held the post of composer-in-residence at Trinity Cathedral in Pittsburgh, USA, and from 2011-2014 served as the cathedral's bass choral scholar for three years. From 2012-2014, Salamon directed the Carnegie Mellon Originals (cmuoriginals.org), leading them to back-to-back victories in the Pittsburgh quarterfinal of the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA).
Salamon currently studies for a master's in composition at the Royal Academy of Music. He holds a bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
