Samuel is a music educator and singer based in South Oxfordshire. He started singing at Derby Cathedral as a treble chorister in 2004, and he joined the back row as an Alto in 2009. Samuel has had the pleasure of singing in Cathedrals around the UK and Europe with the choir. Samuel studied for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in Music at the University of York, studying historical performance practice under Peter Seymour. Samuel passed his Masters Degree with Distinction. As part of his studies, he has given recitals in Bach Oratorio, Schubert Lieder, 19th century Russian song cycles, and 20th century English art song. He conducted the Alto sectional rehearsals for the University of York Choir, and has sung with The 24- the Departments premier choral group alongside I Fagolini in a performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers (1610). In 2016, Samuel had the pleasure of singing Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with Manchester Chamber Choir and the Hallé Choir in the BBC Proms. Samuel holds a PGCE and is a qualified teacher. He currently teaches secondary music for the Ridgeway Education Trust. As well as Classroom teaching, Samuel enjoys one-to-one teaching to all ages and abilities.
