Rosie graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a BMus(Hons) in 1998 and Certificate of Postgraduate Studies in 1999. Since 1999 she has become a member of the Scottish Ballet orchestra and a regular freelancer for the BBC Scottish Symphony orchestra including numerous live and recorded Radio 3 broadcasts, BBC4 television performances at the BBC Proms Royal Albert Hall and BBC Proms in the Park Glasgow Green as well tours to the Netherlands (including a live broadcast from the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam) and Belgium in 2013 and also the New Year tour of China 2014-2015. In June 2015 Rosie appeared in the live BBC Music Day television/radio Gala concert broadcast which included tenor soloist Noah Stewart, violinist Jack Liebeck, singers Lulu, Jamie Cullum, Claire Hastings and Scottish band Deacon Blue. In 2002 Rosie toured Europe with Brit-award-winning band Belle and Sebastian including appearing with them at Glastonbury festival and a performance at Glasgow's Royal Concert hall broadcast on STV. Rosie's recording session work experience includes BBC SSO CD recordings and sessions for scottish singer/songwriters Michael Marra, Isobel Campbell and Stevie Jackson as well as solo Cello for Mick Cooke's soundtrack to the award-winning short animation film The Tannery. Other performing experience includes work for Scottish Opera as Solo Cellist for the world premiere tour of the contemporary opera "The Minotaur" by Julian Evans in 2004. She has performed in string Chamber ensemble recitals at Dartington International Music Festival, Mendelssohn on Mull Music Festival, Edinburgh University and St Andrew's Byre Theatre. Her solo appearances have also included recitals for the Edinburgh Society of Musicians, the Mid-Argyll Arts Association, Bruch's Kol Nidrei at Edinburgh Queen's Hall with Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust (1995) and a Baroque Concerto by John Garth with the Scottish Bach Consort in 1998. Rosie is a member of the Trossachs Quartet in high demand for Wedding/function bookings - www.trossachs-quartet.co.uk. As a Cello teacher she has worked privately and in schools since 1999 having previously worked as a peripatetic Cello instructor for North Lanarkshire Council and currently teaching at Hamilton College and Fernhill School in Rutherglen. Rosie has also worked as a string tutor for the Mendelssoh on Mull Festival children's string course and is currently employed as the Cello tutor for the Strathclyde University Symphony orchestra.
