Roger Moisan LTCL PGCE
After studying at Trinity College of Music London, Roger Moisan pursued a successful freelance career including performances in a number of West End productions such as Les Miserables, Copacabana and Halbwelt Kultur.
Roger studied with Norman Burgess (BBC Symphony Orchestra), Iaan Wilson (Royal Opera House Covent Garden), John Wilbraham (The Philharmonia, PJBE and international soloist) as well as master classes with the late great Maurice Murphy (London Symphony Orchestra), Hakan Hardenberger (international soloist) and Arturo Sandoval (Cuban Jazz Legend)
Roger has performed with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, as a soloist with the acclaimed Corelli Ensemble founded by the cellist Adrian Shepherd MBE and featured on a number of BBC recordings including the contemporary opera La Malinche by the composer Paul Barker.
Roger Moisan performed Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto on BBC television as part of the Saturday light entertainment series and was credited with having inspired many young musicians to take up the trumpet.
He is currently in demand as a trumpet player, soloist and conductor. Roger is Principal Trumpet with the London Contemporary Music Group, session player with the Central Band Royal British Legion, the Embassy Big Band, HM Queens Guards Division Association Band, The Heroes Band as well as a ‘West End’ freelancer.
In the field of education Roger has been involved in countless projects teaching brass, coaching and directing youth bands and orchestras for East Sussex Music Service and as former Director of Music at St Bede’s Independent School. Roger Moisan has taught many trumpet players from beginners through to University and into the profession. He is recognized as an authority on embouchure problems and is one of the trumpet world's most respected educators.
