(Programme includes songs by; Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Randy Newman, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Tori Amos, John Lennon and many more!) _________________________________________________________________ Rachel originally studied classical viola, piano and singing at the Purcell Music School and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She displays great versatility as a vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer in the fields of Classical, Rock, Pop and Dance Music. Working under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, and collaborating with artists that have included the BBC Singers, Rev Hammer, New Model Army, Darryl Way and Matthew Bellamy, Rachel's performances have taken her to France, Germany, South Africa, and throughout the UK. She has performed in the Purcell Room at the South Bank Centre, De Montfort Hall, St Davids Hall in Cardiff, Soho Review Bar, Brighton Fringe Festival and she also held a three-year residency (2004 - 2006) at Bartók, a classical music bar in Chalk Farm Road, Camden. In 2005 she premiered the vocal cantata, Stargazing, at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace in Bishopsgate, and her recording of the work was featured on BBC Radio London. Rachel has made various radio and TV appearances and has also written music for independant films, including one which was premiered at The Cannes Film Festival in 2006. She has released her own original material on the EIAG record label, the most recent being her 2018 album, 'Chasing Rabbits' which celebrates some of her favourite songwriters of all time. Her string arrangements, viola playing and backing vocals have been featured on releases by Attack Attack Records, Cooking Vinyl, and V2 Records. As a function performer, Rachel has delighted audiences at numerous events across the UK, including weddings, private celebrity parties, album launches, festivals, birthdays and various other occasions. Rachel currently lives in Saltdean, Brighton, with her Husband, pianist and composer, Johan de Cock and their music loving cat, Zizi. Rachel enjoys a varied career as a performer, songwriter, session musician and singing coach/producer.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event, please let me know as soon as possible. If dates change, I will do my best to accommodate you but other bookings and commitments may prevent this.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am very happy to play some appropriate, pre-recorded music between my sets. Please make sure that your venue is covered by PRS (Performing Rights Society) for any performances and pre-recorded music.

How much time do you need to set up?

I normally set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

You are very welcome to pick songs from my playlist.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely music wise. All I require is a waterproofed area to perform and an electrical socket to plug in my equipment. Please note: I do not provide lighting

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I am very happy to learn specific songs for your event. There will be an additional charge to cover rehearsal and production costs, plus any sheet music and backing tracks that are required. Prices start at £30 per song. Please contact me for more information

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I guess some would say it was a private party I performed at for a certain celebrity (no names mentioned!) but my favourite was a solo concert at The Brighton Fringe Festival 2018.
