Hello, hello, hello! Rabbit Foot Club are a 3-piece collective from Newcastle University's prestigious Folk & Traditional and Classical degrees. Rabbit Foot Club get everyone up dancing by exerting raw energy and mixing a range of different musical qualities each member brings to the table. From foot-stomping fiddle lines and roaring accordion sweeps to contemporary style dances, we intend to slay by providing an exciting and positive ceilidh experience to your event. (LGBTQ+ friendly!) Merle Harbron is a predominantly Scottish fiddle player who has recently graduated from Newcastle's prestigious folk music degree. As a Scottish player influenced by many genres and styles, her sound is unique and dynamic. Her love for ceilidh music stemmed from her participation in the Argyll Ceilidh Trail in which she gained experience in some 100 ceilidhs across Scotland and England. Michael McLernon grew up competing through the Irish Fleadh nationally with Piano Accordion, Whistle & Percussion with the St. Rochs Irish Music organisation in Glasgow. He gained experience as a ceilidh accordionist and caller in his early 20's and has now graduated from the Classical Music degree at Newcastle University. He enjoys playing traditional music from Scotland, Ireland, Scandinavia, France & Ukraine. He's also a massive nerd when it comes to scoring/arranging music & sound for film/TV/video games. What do your clients love most about your performances?

They love our high energy and positivity, our authentic Scottish input and professional attitude. We understand your event is incredibly important and we want to make it go as smoothly as possible for you. We are incredibly easy-going and polite musicians who love to have craic, because that is what a ceilidh is all about, just having fun with one another.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed in churches, halls, hotels, bars, clubs, and lots of other venue types.

Can you perform covers?

Yes, no problem. We have a range of modern covers we're happy to perform in addition to the traditional Ceilidh music.

Do you have different line-up options?

As recent graduates across different music degrees at Newcastle University, we are in contact with multiple musicians who are willing to be added to the lineup if required.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via a PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

We only require no more than 45 minutes to setup prior to the event's start time.

Do you provide a caller?

Yes we do! We have a fantastic caller (Michael McLernon, Piano Accordion/Percussion) as part of our Ceilidh band so just let us know whether you already have one, or don't need one, so we can adjust our line-up accordingly!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

PA/Equipment all included.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Absolutely. We are more than happy to provide this service, please let us know in advance of this so we can spend time rehearsing your requests!

Michael and the band were fantastic. Amazing communication throughout and accommodating of requests. We had the best day and the ceilidh set was an absolute highlight, so much fun and everyone loved it. Michael gave clear instructions for each dance and then off we went! I would highly recommend them for any event!! Thanks all x

We booked 3 musicians , we wanted this band because their profile and video showed an accordionist Michael and fiddle and. guitarist so we requested these 3. Michael turnedup with what he called percussion, this was the box he sat on while calling.they started1 15 minutes all.

Rabbit Foot Club were absolutely amazing when they played for my wedding. Fantastic music that got everyone on the dance floor doing the cèilidh and mixing together, and the caller was great. We had a brilliant 2 hours.

Could not have asked for a better ceilidh band at our wedding. The whole band were enthusiastic and happy throughout the performance. The caller was very thorough when explaining the dances to the guests so that everyone knew what they were meant to be doing. All the guests have fed back at now great the ceilidh was and how it made the wedding. Would definitely recommend to others.
