Brass quintet
London
Quintetta is a fun and exciting established brass ensemble formed of five enthusiastic London based players.

Quintetta is an established brass ensemble formed of five players from two of the top conservatoires, the Guildhall School and the Royal Academy of Music. These players are Katie Lodge and Isabelle Draper on trumpets, Emily Burley on horn, Elinor Chambers on trombone and Anna Carter on tuba. The group has played together for a number of years and has developed a wide range of repertoire that makes the most of their diverse interests. Quintetta performs their recital programmes in venues across London and beyond, taking their audiences on a journey through varied genres of music including classic brass quintet repertoire as well as some more eclectic pieces. Recently they performed music by women composers on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune programme. They are avid supporters of contemporary brass music and are keen to promote up-and-coming young composers by performing new compositions wherever possible. Quintetta also like to create their own arrangements of popular music, folk and jazz, and love bringing in unique performance elements, be that singing, poetry reading or theatrical performance. One of Quintetta’s many passions is outreach work. Whilst studying at music college they developed this craft alongside New York-based ensemble, Decoda, and now regularly go into schools to give interactive workshops for all age groups, introducing them to brass instruments and taking them through repertoire that spans the history of music. They have also given masterclasses at Norwich Centre for Young Musicians and are all experienced instrumental teachers in their own rights. A highlight for Quintetta was being asked to perform with Superbrass at the Perse School in Cambridge and to assist coaching the school ensembles. They also acted as coaches for the Under-18 Processions Brass Ensemble, preparing young brass players to perform at Westminster as part of Processions 2018. Quintetta is a friendly, approachable group, and are available for a wide range of events, from recital programmes and out reach work, through to fanfares, background and festive music.
