Pui-Yee Angela Lau FTCL LTCL Acclaimed for ‘a dazzling display of technical mastery and musicality’ (Woking News and Mail), ‘impressive programme… articulated with suitable energy and an exciting momentum’ (Ian Jones, Deputy Head of the Royal College of Music), Pui-Yee Lau is a pianist from Hong Kong based in London. Born in 1997, she started her musical journey at the age of six. Currently studying at the Royal College of Music, she is pursuing her Bachelor degree under the tutelage of renowned piano pedagogue Gordon Fergus-Thompson and formerly with Ruth Nye. Pui-Yee has performed extensively in the UK including Windsor Parish Church, Pushkin House, Burgh House of Hampstead, St. Mary Abbots Church, St. John’s Church, The United Reformed Church, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall just to name a few. She has been selected to work in masterclass with respected artist such as Geoffrey Pratley, Andrew West, Patsy Toh, Chiao-ying Chang and Tra Nguyen as well as awarded a scholarship to participate in Musical Odyssey Masterclass in Nafplio, Greece. She has recently became the winner of Woking Young Musician of the Year 2017 and also a prize winner in Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. Future engagements include concerto performance with Woking Symphony Orchestra and Southern Pro Musica in the coming season. Besides her solo engagements, Pui-Yee is a surging chamber musician. She is also interested in bringing music to a wider community and giving back to the society. Upcoming engagements include recitals at St Bride's Church, H.G. Wells Conference & Event Centre and Claremont Centre.
