Born in Peckham, London, UK (2018). Our music embodies sounds of traditional jazz, Parisian romance , swing, bossanova, latin percussion and playful kitsch vibes. Most songs are our own original material but we also play covers for private events. Suitable for small intimate spaces but also larger events. With many years experience of performing to large crowds we dazzle audiences with unique edge, groove and characterful rhythms. An unusual but delicately crafted assembly of pelican musicians. Putting on shows during a pandemic has been somewhat challenging! The Lewes Ripple planned to do 8 Sunday nights at the Lewes Con Club from July 12th but restrictions and COVID pull-outs meant that we only managed 3 nights in total. Pelican Assembly worked a miracle at their headline show by gradually teasing an audience that was dance-floor rusty onto their feet for some uninhibited shape pulling. How did they do it? With well executed shots of Metro Kitsch Jazz (all original material and no cheesy covers). This cooly energetic 5-piece play precisely accented swing beats with sultry vocals and brief but stunning solos from both trumpet and guitar. The stand-up bass and drummer maintain a beautifully cultured groove from start to finish while singer Gabriella Romano glides and shimmers across the stage. Pelican cook like they look, the audience is smiling and grooving and enough people have turned up to pay the bands fees. Cheers to the Assembly for showing up and delivering the goods - and here's to more of the same

Pelican Assembly performed at our wedding in August 2021 and they were absolutely incredible in every way; their choice of songs were just perfect which got everyone dancing within seconds. Gabriella, their lead singer immediately captured the full attention of all with her fabulous stage presence and her stunning, tantalising vocals. Wow! What a unique and innovative band with each musician as talented as the next. Gabriella and her band went out of their way to get to know our preferences and were by far the highlight of our wedding, making it such a special day to remember. We highly recommend Pelican Assembly for any type of event or function; their versatile music cleverly incorporates elements from many genres and oozes passion and creativity, yet they have a sound scape unique to them. We cannot thank you enough Pelican Assembly and we very much look forward to seeing you perform again soon.
