Oliver is a violinist based in Manchester and York, UK.
Oliver is a Masters student at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he is taught by Ben Holland. He has participated in masterclasses with Henning Kraggerud, Savely, Shalman, Andrey Baranov, Sophia Jaffé and Alina Pogostkina, and is the winner of the 2015 RNCM Helen Porthouse Paganini Prize. Recent solo performances include a Northern Aldborough Festival recital and numerous concerto appearances with the Manchester Beethoven Orchestra and Vacation Chamber Orchestra. As an orchestral player Oliver regularly freelances with the Hallé Orchestra, and has also performed with the BBC Philharmonic. In 2015 he directed youth orchestra workshops at the Malta Arts Festival. A keen chamber musician, he was a founder member of the Sullivan Quartet who have given numerous performances across the UK, recently participating in the Salisbury International Arts Festival where they gave both a recital and a masterclass. He plays a French violin c.1850 and is a recipient of the Peter Chase Award for Young Musicians.
