Duo Olga&Ksenia Kemova The duo was formed in 2008 when both sisters became students of the same teacher – Olga Stupakova – at Moscow State Institute of Music named after Alfred Schnittke (college). Their duo activity expanded since 2012 when Olga and Ksenia decided to devote themselves to duo performance in equal measure with developing as solo performers. At the moment Olga and Ksenia are taught by Professor Olga Filatova in Moscow (piano solo and duo performance). The sisters’ duo has become winner or prizewinner of several international duo competitions: 2010 – “Musica Classica” Х international competition in Ruza, Russia – II prize; 2012 – “Sforzando” VI international competition in Berlin, Germany – I prize; 2012 – “Rondo” International competition in Stockholm, Sweden – I prize; 2013 – Mariya Yudina International competition in Saint-Petersburg, Russia – Diploma; 2014 – All-Russian Duo Competition (in memory of A. Bakhchiev) in Vologda, Russia – I prize and a Special Prize from Academia Siciliana for performing a composition by a European composer; 2015 – Chopin Roma XXV International competition in Rome, Italy – Absolute I prize in the category “Four hands duo” and II prize in the category “Two pianos duo”. The duo plays regular recitals in concert halls of Moscow and takes part in classical music festivals. Russian music constitutes a considerable part of their repertoire. The pianists eagerly include rarely performed duet works by Russian and foreign composers in concert programmes to help the public discover them.
