Experienced event, wedding, orchestral, solo and chamber harpist based in London; currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
Nicolette is a harpist from Singapore, having given numerous performances internationally and around the U.K. Winner of the Guy Magrath Harp Prize 2017, her most recent achievements include coming runner up of the Camac Harp Prize (London) 2017 and winning the 2nd prize of the Asian Harp Chamber Competition. Discretionary awards from her time at the Royal Academy include the Frank Britton and the Mrs M A Garrett Awards. As an orchestral harpist, she has performed with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Singapore National Chinese Youth Orchestra, Royal Academy Symphony Orchestra, Royal Academy Manson Ensemble, Royal Academy Opera, Saffron Opera Group, W11 Opera, London Shostakovich Orchestra, Kings Chamber Orchestra and the Good.Ensemble. She has worked under reknowned conductors such as Oliver Knussen, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Christopher Warren-Green. Within the UK she has performed at the Regent Hall, Duke’s Hall, David Josefowitz Recital Room, Charlton House, St James Piccadilly, the British Museum, St Martin in the Fields and the Singapore Embassy. She has also played in numerous masterclasses with Catrin Finch, Isabelle Perrin, Isabelle Moretti, Milda Agazarian, Maria Luisa Rayan-Forero, Skaila Kanga, Karen Vaughan, Florence Sitruk, Elinor Bennett, Sylvain Blassel, Gabriella Dal’Olio, Ulpia Erdos, and Sioned Williams. Nicolette is currently in her 4th and final year as a harp performance major at the Royal Academy of Music, London, studying with Catherine White and Skaila Kanga. She will represented Singapore at the World Harp Congress 2017 in Hong Kong as a performer for the Focus on Youth series. She is very grateful for the support she receives as a current full scholar of the Loke-Cheng Kim Foundation (Singapore), and as a Peter Simon scholarship recipient of the Royal Academy.
