Traditional irish songs with guitar accompaniment

Mick Bailey (Guitar/ vocals) Mick Bailey : Guitar, Vocals is the founder and lynch-pin of Wraggle Taggle which he founded in 1998 following many successful years organizing gigs in and around his home in North London. He carefully selected the band members for outstanding talent on their individual instruments and as a bunch of good friends. Born in Yorkshire in 1954, Mick trained as a classical pianist and taught himself the guitar. He was always interested in folk music and helped run Knebworth Folk Club in Hertfordshire when he was just a teenager. He was turned on to traditional Irish music during the seventies "revival" by groundbreaking bands such as Planxty, The Bothy Band, and The Chieftains. After studying music at Goldsmith's college, London and developing as a jazz pianist, Mick has worked in a variety of musical areas, composing and arranging for theatre as well as jazz, rock and folk groups. Previous projects include "The Tollpuddle Players", "Take Two", "Yellow Bell"and "Northern Celts". Having explored an extensive range of musical genres Mick always returned to his first love: traditional music, and has built a successful career leading Wraggle Taggle

The musicians were fantastic. Turned up when they said they would and were very accommodating. Margaret was great at encouraging the reticent and showing how to do the dances. Everyone had great fun and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of a ceilidh. Would definitely recommend Mick and his group to others.

Wraggle Taggle were an awesome band - we had excellent feedback from all the guests and thoroughly enjoyed their playing. The Scottish songs they played during the breaks in our ceilidh dancing were such a nice touch.

Wraggle Taggle were professional, very accommodating, and went down a treat. They offered both amplified and non-amplified music and using their amplifiers were able to hold a full room of 90 loud and merry party goers. I would totally recommend Wraggle Taggle for any party or event and if the theme lent itself, I would, without doubt, use them again.

Excellent Band for a Wedding or Celebration! "Wraggle Taggle played at our wedding reception last weekend. (27th October 2018 Saturday, Garden Court, Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 0SD) From first contact they have been professional, organised and punctual. Our guests really enjoyed the music and the ceilidh set dancing that was led by a dance caller, who got everyone up dancing, including the children present who loved it. We all had such great fun! We've had lots of compliments from the guests! The band played to a very high standard and we really enjoyed the authentic irish music. We would highly recommend you to others for all occasions!"
