I'm a Scottish lyric tenor, performing in opera and concerts across the UK. I sing lots of Mozart, Strauss and bel canto!
Tenor Michael Doroszenko, described as "an excellent young lyric tenor" for his performance in the title role of The Tales of Hoffmann, hails from Scotland. He performs with opera companies across the UK, most notably in the repertoire of Mozart and Donizetti. Notable past engagements include Leicester (Maria Stuarda) and Roberto Devereux for Opera Seria in Manchester, Tamino for Aria Alba and Ferrando for Voice Arc, both in Edinburgh. Future plans include Der Tanzmeister, and covering the role of Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos) for Voice Arc, Don Ottavio for both Voice Arc and Opera Seria, and reprising the title role in Opera Seria's staged revival of Roberto Devereux. Recital repertoire includes songs by Richard Strauss, Liszt and Schubert. In 2017, Michael will perform Winterreise in a staged production for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Michael holds an engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde, and studied privately with baritone Paul Keohone during this time. He now studies with dramatic soprano Dr Nell Drew, an expert on the repertoire of Richard Strauss.
