Melissa graduated with a first class degree from the Royal College of Music, and in 2020 completed a postgraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Chris Richards and Chi-Yu Mo. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with London Symphony Orchestra (Eb and Bb), Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Sinfonia Cymru, and participated in London Philharmonic Orchestra Foyle Future First scheme for 2020. She has also performed with Philharmonia Chamber Players, and as part of a clarinet trio at the 2018 BASCA Awards which was later broadcast on BBC Radio 3. In 2019, Melissa won the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Prize at the Royal Academy of Music, and performs recitals with pianist, Beth Haughan, at venues including Wigmore Hall and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
