Violinist based in Manchester, also often working in Glasgow and London.
Megan is twenty three years old and began playing the violin at the age of 8. During her secondary school years, she achieved ABRSM Grade 8 in Violin and Piano. She also joined many ensembles - including Trafford Youth Orchestra, Hallé Youth Orchestra, and the National Youth Strings Academy (now NYSO). Being part of such ensembles gave her the opportunity to perform in collaborative projects in the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Manchester International Festival and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Her secondary school Loreto Grammar also gave Megan the chance to lead the school's orchestra in annual concerts at the Bridgewater Hall, and perform as a soloist. Megan then attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2012, graduating in 2016 with a BMus(Hons) in Performance. Here she experienced Masterclasses with Leland Chen, Lutsia Ibragimova, The Brodsky Quartet, Ilya Gringolts and Nicola Benedetti - with whom she accompanied in the Symphony Orchestra for several Violin Concertos. The course also involved taking part in sessions with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. In her last year of Music College, Megan went on tour with Scottish Ballet, performing Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake' across the UK. Upon graduating, Megan has toured once more with Scottish Ballet, playing Humperdinck's 'Hansel and Gretel'. She is touring again with them later this year, performing Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring', and has also toured with heavy metal band Disturbed, in arenas across the UK. Megan plays regularly in Manchester with the Stamford Ensemble, and teaches for Greater Manchester music services.
