Matthew’s main passion is chamber music. He performs regularly with The Jochoma Piano Trio. The trio was formed in October 2016 to undertake a Masters in chamber music at the University of York. As well as his trio, Matthew plays regularly in quartets and other ensembles as well as playing with a number of orchestras including York Guildhall Orchestra, Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, the Northern Contemporary collective and co-leading Watford Youth Sinfonia. As well as a busy performance schedule Matthew is a very enthusiastic teacher taking on private pupils and coaching ensembles of all styles, recently including string quartets, A level performance and musical theatre pit bands and chorus. Matthew completed his Undergraduate BA in Music at York St. John University and is now finishing his masters at the University of York. His current teacher is Miriam Roycroft and his previous teacher was Dr George Kennaway. Matthew has also received master classes from Jamie Walton, Corrine Morris and Jacky Thomas.
