I have been hosting live music events in Manchester now for the past 6 years and have been regularly booking Matt to play. Matt is a fantastic singer / songwriter and a very strong live performer. He is very versatile in playing different types of music and able to entertain different types of audience of all ages. He is equally strong performing covers and his own material. Matt constantly keeps his material fresh learning contemporary music and also performs songs in foreign languages. I’ve seen him perform covers ranging from Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (a real treat) to Radiohead and Muse, all the way through to Under the sea from the little mermaid. Matt has such a vast repertoire he would be suitable for any type of event that you might want a live music act.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, definitely; although obviously the longer you want it for, will mean me working for longer and therefore having to charge more, but just drop me a message with what you require and we can work something out.

How much time do you need to set up?

Depends on the setup of the venue, really shouldn't take longer than a few minutes to tune up and plug in, but obviously grappling with a complicated sound system could take a bit longer.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, absolutely. Just ask when you book me.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, insofar as I bring my own guitar and leads. If I'm needed to play amped up, I don't have my own PA or mic at this time, but there are potential workarounds depending on the location and setup of the venue, so be sure to check with me and I'll see what I can do.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, but that depends on how many and how long you give me. Let me know what it is you want me to play and I can quote you for the rehearsal time if necessary (If it's a short, simple song, it will take me just a couple of practices, if it's a 10-min prog epic, I will have to spend a long time working it out!).

The energy I perform with and my ability to get audiences involved.

Many in Manchester - Night & Day, Sound Control, The Dancehouse Theatre, Dry Bar, The Roadhouse, Ruby Lounge, The Carlton Club and Antwerp Mansion are a few of the better known ones.

Streetlight Manifesto, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, Queen, Manu Chao, The Levellers, Muse, Elbow, Sigur Ros, Kanda Bongo Man - I like so many different styles of music, there's a bit of everything in there!
