Marianne Tyler Brown

Marianne Tyler Brown combines her expertise as professional musician, teacher of cello and piano and Class Music Teaching alongside project management for arts events and concerts as well as director of Symphonic Tots and Kids Musical Journey Projects Charity. Marianne studied the cello (and second study piano) at The Royal Academy of Music, Royal Northern College of Music and Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary and was awarded a Masters in Cultural Management at City University. Having performed with leading orchestras and ensembles including The Halle, Welsh National Opera and Bratislava Chamber orchestra her work has also led to recordings for BBC Radio, Television and ITV. Solo and chamber performances include venues throughout the UK and Europe including St James Piccadilly, Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Burgh House, Lauderdale House, Stanjel, Castle Slovenia and Palace of The Arts in Budapest. As well as her work as a professional cellist and teacher Marianne is a member of the Workshop Leader Panel of Tutors for Trinity College of Music London offering inset training days and CPD workshops as well as holding the post of music teacher and cello tutor at private and state schools in North London, alongside her private teaching practice. Her Charity Symphonic Tots and Kids Musical Journey Projects, offers workshops and courses for families and children from pre school upwards embracing the Kodaly method and live classical music.Previous higher education posts include teaching at Middlesex University North London where her work has included Music Lectures in arts management and other areas of the BA music course, PhD research, ensemble directing, string coaching. Marianne is lead cello tutor for Barnet Youth Orchestra. In addition to this Marianne has played an active part in the organising and planning of concerts, arts events, conferences and performing arts seminars. With more than 20 years professional experience, Marianne is currently available for work as a free lance cellist, lecturer, cello teacher, piano teacher and Music Project Manager Charity Founder and Director of Symphonic Tots and Kids Musical Journey Projects
