Marged is a versatile harpist based in Cardiff, South Wales and is available for solo, chamber and orchestral engagements across the UK.
A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Marged is currently studying for her Masters degree with Caryl Thomas at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, having achieved her ABRSM LRSM. She participates in a number of different musical activities including solo recitals, chamber music, orchestral concerts and music tuition. Marged is a busy freelance harpist and has toured extensively in the UK and abroad. She has a wide orchestral experience having played with full symphony orchestras since age 12 starting with the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. She continued to work with many important conductors through her work with some of the best youth orchestras in the country including The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and The National Youth Orchestra of Wales. As a member of the NYOW she was chosen to perform with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales through a side-by-side training scheme. She has enjoyed performing in wonderful concert venues like Carnegie Hall New York, The Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms season, and Barbican Hall London where she made her Concerto Debut with Danse Sacree et Danse Profane by Debussy, and again as part of the City of London music Festival. Marged Enjoys teaching locally in Cardiff and the surrounding South Wales area. She currently has a small group of private students, and she also teaches at the Junior department of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
