Makaris Quartet is a young, prize-winning saxophone quartet based in Glasgow. Formed in 2015 while studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the quartet has quickly gained a reputation for its exciting and sensitive performances, winning the Governor's Recital Prize for Chamber Music and being awarded the Mary D Adams Award for Chamber Music within its first year of performances. Performers of highly eclectic music, the quartet's repertoire encompasses music drawn from the standard French saxophone literature, right through to newly written works by young composers.
