Starting out with piano lessons when I was younger, I began to slowly creep into music as I joined several choirs. I found a love in working with vocalists as an accompanist and/or musical director. The way an MD can guide a vocalist into being the best they possibly can be is always a very rewarding experience. As a performer I love the relationship that can be built with an audience. My favourite type of material to perform is that which involves the audience singing along with the piece. It's when everyone's smiling and having fun that I really get a personal satisfaction. I also quite enjoy the in-the-background type of music. A bit of light jazz at a wedding reception can really add to the atmosphere of the room, something which I feel able to gauge as I improvise or select pieces from my (perhaps too) extensive collection of sheet music.

Luke took a Russian Opera score and managed to teach performers both to play instruments and sing for this challenging, yet rewarding score. An excellent teacher, pianist and leader in music.
