Lowri began clarinet lessons at the age of eight. She gave her first public performance six weeks later, and discovered a passion for performing from that day onwards. At the age of 10, she was selected for the National Children’s Orchestra, and became a member of Bangor University Symphony Orchestra at aged 13. She attended Chetham’s School of Music for the sixth form, where she obtained a distinction in the ABRSM Diploma. She is now in her fourth year at the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Timothy Lines and Richard Hosford. This year, Lowri was selected for the ENO Evolve scheme, and is regularly in demand to record and premiere composers’ new works. Recent highlights have included playing in a small ensemble for Prince Charles at his 65th birthday party in Buckingham Palace, and performing Steve Reich’s Double Sextet at a concert given in the composer's honour.
