Kate Thomas

London based Singer and Singer-Songwriter Kate Thomas began her career in Italian Opera and has since travelled the world performing in many different languages and genres that include: Musical Theatre, jazz, Cabaret, blues, Latin, folk & gypsy music. Back in 2014 Kate was the only solo artist to make it through to the Battle of the Bands final at the Boisdale, she has extensively toured in France and has had the pleasure of gracing stages at Glastonbury, Ronnie Scott's, The Bulls Head Jazz Club, Fishery Wharf Jazz Festival, Jazz Verse Jukebox at Hoxton Hall, BTL Jazz and the Green Note to name but few. Kate's soulful, powerful and expressive voice has the ability to make you both laugh and cry. Kate has a strong reputation on the jazz circuit in London with her natural jazz tone but she will also take you quite the journey with her latin, gypsy and blues flavours. Expect a variety of languages to weave in and out of each set that include: Spanish, French, Romany, Italian and of course English! Think Billie Holiday, Pink Martini, Astrud Gilberto and Eva Cassidy walk into a festival! Kate can also provide more of a compere service for your event. As a trained Actor (East 15 Acting School) and her years of working on the Cabaret circuit Kate has the ability to charm you with her highly accessible and friendly stage chit chat. Kate can both step forward and entertain with plenty of audience participation but she also has the sensitivity to step back and provide more of a warm background ambience.
