Verified profile

Founded in May 2015, the Kamo Quartet is made up of violinists Dominic Ingham and Si Thom Rich, violist Bill Harpum and cellist Laurens Price-Nowak. The group has an eclectic musical upbringing, ranging from orchestral and chamber experience to composition, music production, jazz, and acoustic session work. The quartet has played a variety of high profile events, most notably arranging parts and accompanying up and coming Motown Records singer Sonna Rele, both on a video shoot for YouTube's 'Reload Sessions' and also in her sold out performance at the Royal Albert Hall. When the quartet aren't playing in events or sessions, they enjoy exploring the possibilities of improvising, composing, and combining the rich sound of strings with ambient electronics, or manipulating the strings with electronic processing. Upcoming plans include developing this experimental area of interest into a live show, incorporating synthesisers and real-time manipulation of prerecorded as well as live string sounds.
