Any song can be learnt on request, alternatively, can groove on any song on hand/world percussion on the day (in the example of playing with a DJ for example!)
Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

So long as there is notice up until 48 hours before, I will be 100% flexible (up to 2 hours difference)! If there is less notice, I will always do my best to be flexible, often this won’t be an issue due to extended travel time necessary for percussionists so there’ll always be extra time allowed!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am able to do this yes! I am able to perform live percussion over all your favourite songs to add to the atmosphere while DJing or over an existing playlist provided by the client (a few days notice is preferable! This can be done for an extra £100!

How much time do you need to set up?

It’s always safest to leave 1.5 hours to set up with Commercial set up. In the way of theatre set ups at least 2 hours. World Music anywhere between 30 mins to 1.5 hours depending on the situation!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am happy to play percussion to any track/song. If you have a request, just let me know and I can adapt to what you would like!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

All equipment will be provided by myself at every gig/concert/event I do unless I am told gear is being provided by another percussionist or organiser!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Absolutely! Any special requests can be learnt and performed with notice! Depending on instrumentation, I would ask that 2 weeks notice be given for any specific requests!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

The energy of having live percussion alongside a DJ! It’s fun having a DJ at a party, but adding percussion just lifts the visual and acoustic energy! I also love letting any kids at events jump up and have a go! (One at a time please!!)

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Olympic Stadium, The O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium, Barbican, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), The WGI world championships, Dayton and multiple theatres and festivals across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My main influences are traditional musics from around the globe! Traditional Irish, Arabic, Cuban, Carnatic and Balkan styles with artists such as Itamar Doari, Avi Avital, Le Trio Joubran, Tito Puente, John Joe Kelly and countless others!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In regards to audience size, certainly the Paralympics Closing Ceremony in London 2012!

“The UnSwung Heroes are a joy to watch. Their seamless swing arrangements of modern-day tunes, combined with fabulous renditions of swing classics, are impeccably executed.
