About Joe

I'm a Manchester based conductor, pianist and singer specialising in 20th Century Broadway and Film music as well as the standard repertory.
Conductor
Manchester

I am a highly motivated musician with a comprehensive background in conducting, performance and arranging. I major as a conductor, but as both a solo pianist and singer I have had a great amount of experience performing in clubs, restaurants, residential homes, and theatres, and am therefore confident in a huge variety of musical styles. Some recent highlights have been Musically Directing Guys and Dolls with the University of Manchester Musical Theatre Society, Mame and My Fair Lady. I am also the Artistic Director of Factory Brass, a brass dectet based at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. I am the 2017/18 Musical Director for the Manchester University Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and am looking forward to conducting their upcoming production of Iolanthe in 2018.

Joe’s understanding of music, whether it be in performance, conducting, teaching, composition or arranging is clear to anyone with the slightest understanding of music. If anyone needs someone to sort out a music problem, then I have an obvious candidate for you. His name is Joe Hearson!
