Currently a Natural Sciences graduate of Churchill College, Cambridge. Attended the junior department of the RWCMD for eight years, studying the flute under Catherine Handley. Whilst there, gained a lot of orchestral and chamber music experience, and was successful several individual performance competitions, including winning the Urdd Eisteddfod in 2012 and reaching the UK final of the Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year competition in 2013.
Whilst at Cambridge, played with the University Orchestra for three years, and co-principal for the final two years. Also played with various college orchestras and for several staged opera and musical productions as a flautist and piccoloist. Often gives chamber music and solo recitals, including concerti performances with orchestras around Cambridge. Outside of University, was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales for five years, principal flute for the final year, and with them has performed works such as Bartok's 'Concerto for Orchestra' and Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring'. Orchestral activities have led to performances in venues such as St David's Hall, Cardiff and The Sage, Gateshead.
Very comfortable playing in high standard orchestral settings, playing flute and piccolo. Has worked with internationally-renowned conductors such as Jac van Steen, Paul Daniel and Sir Mark Elder, and covered a wide range of repertoire, from baroque to twentieth century works.
