About Inspired Brass
Inspired Brass is made up of professional brass musicians based in the North West of England. The Brass Quintet follows the traditional line up of 2 trumpets, French horn, trombone and tuba. The ensemble can be expanded, (up to ten-piece), should the repertoire / occasion require it. Members of Inspired Brass are graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and play regularly with professional orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hallé Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As a chamber ensemble they regularly perform for recitals, weddings, corporate parties, and charity events. Most notably, they performed for Her Majesty the Queen at Whitworth Hall (2008) and for the Labour Party Conference at Manchester Central (2007). They play a wide variety of well-known music, but, unlike a lot of ensembles, the majority of their music are original compositions / arrangements by Joel Cooper. They have recorded 2 Christmas albums known as, 'Brass Baubles' (1&2). Profits from these albums were donated to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust (Christies). Inspired Brass hope to record a third album for release in December 2016.
