Huw Cheston

Huw is a proficient performer of Jazz, Popular, and Classical genres on Guitar, having previously performed alongside or opened for artists ranging from: Jason Rebello (Sting), Everything Everything, Elliot Galvin (Dinosaur), Jean Toussiant (Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers), members of Fires of London (Maxwell Davies). He has performed at well over a hundred functions for clients including the United Grand Lodge of England and Blenheim Palace, alongside many smaller parties, weddings, and events. Since 2017, he has played Guitar, Bass, Banjo and Mandolin in over 20 musical theatre productions in London, Oxford, and Edinburgh, covering many repertoire pieces with runs ranging from under a week to several months. His most recent solo release, ‘Live; Electric’ (2016), incorporates a new composition, ‘Ring’, by composer Luciano Williamson, alongside his own interpretation of Steve Reich’s ‘Electric Counterpoint’. He currently performs with the experimental/avant-garde Stakla Quartet, the jazz fusion group About Life and the function group Garfunkel in Oxford, and maintains a blog at wallpaperjazz
