About Hannah

Hannah is a musician and composer who currently teaches, writes and produces music in Oxford.

Hannah is a musician and composer who currently teaches, writes and produces music in Oxford. Her primary instrument in piano. She received the highest ABRSM Grade 8 piano result in her county at 17 and went on to explore folk and jazz repertoires. She has 5 years piano teaching experience and also plays accordion, oboe and sings. From a state school background, she worked hard to achieve a First Class Music degree from Oxford University, specialising in composition, ethnomusicology, gender and protest music. Her thesis explored music and violence during the Arab Spring – see her short feature in the 120th edition of the Oxford University Isis Magazine. Since graduating, she has been working on projects which combine her interest in the arts and in socio-environmental justice including co-founding a sustainable food organisation, founding a feminist folk initiative and becoming a Director of Ethno England and Tandem Festival. Presently she is focused on work with Upcycled Sounds Production, teaching piano and theory, and her own musical project Yakez.
