About Talia Sanders and Hannah Williams-Brown

We are a string duo from Edinburgh, comfortable in all styles of music and are excited to work with you to make your event one to remember!
String duo

We are two friends studying Music at the University of Edinburgh, who are aspiring to become professional musicians. Playing together nearly every day, whether it be as string duo, in an orchestra or as a Voice and string ensemble, it has enabled us to create a strong connection with each other in our music and in our friendship. Hannah Williams-Brown is a Cellist in her second year of studies, having recently won the Thomas Beecham Scholarship for highest results in 1st year instrumental performance studies. She is Principal Cellist of both the Edinburgh University Symphony Orchestra and Edinburgh University String Orchestra, as well as having played for operatic productions, upcoming film scores and emerging new artists. She has played for musicals such as The Producers (EUSOG), The Sound of Music and The Vackees (Church Hill Theatre) and has performed solo in the Reid Concert Series. Talia Sanders is a Violinist also in her second year of studies. As a member of Edinburgh University Chamber and String Orchestras, Talia performs regularly. She has performed solo and in ensembles at weddings, in contemporary jazz bands, for operatic productions and has recently released her own album and singles, which she has written, recorded and produced herself. On this project, she worked in a singing duo and recorded both her voice and her string instruments, including recording Hannah playing cello for the single 'Hollie's Dance'. At the University, she pursues Singing and the Violin as her principal studies. Talia is able to play both Violin and Viola, allowing us to make use of a wide range of repertoire. Together we have played in charity concerts, outreach projects in care homes and schools, on tour with EUSO String Orchestra in Mull as well as performing regularly together in University settings. As members of EUSO Committee, organisational skills are paramount. We are reliable, hardworking and truly enjoy performing together. We are excited to work with you to make your event special.

I would not hesitate to recommend Talia and Hannah. They played at our wedding and all our guests loved the fantastic atmosphere they created. They played perfectly - of course. Book them for your event, you will be grateful that you did.

'This is my current favourite song, it was written for me for my birthday! Talia's composition and playing is so stunning, the lyrics are moving and inspiring. This combined with Hannah's cello is just so wonderful- these guys work so well together and have created something truly beautiful and stunning. They have used their technical skill and emotional drive so well.'
