Gunda Baranauskaitė was born in 1991 in Klaipėda, West Lithuania. She graduated from Eduardas Balsys gymnasium of arts cello class in 2010, got her Bachelor’s and Master’s diploma of performing arts at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in prof. Edmundas Kulikauskas cello class. As a soloist and a member of a variety of different chamber ensembles attended mastercourses by Aras Palšauskas, Rimantas Armonas, Romanas Armonas, Ramute Kalnenaite, Mindaugas Bačkus (Lithuania), Eleonor Testelec (Latvia), Jeroen Reuling (Belgium), Othmar Muller (Austria), Steven Elisha (USA), Agne Sprūdža (Latvija), Johanness Meissly (Austria), Owen Murray (GB), Stephan Goerner (Austria), Nicholas Jones (GB), Irina Grayfer (Russia), Jeanne Maisonhaute (France) and many more. Took part in projects as a soloist and orchestra member in the Baltic states, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Great Britain and other. Collaborated with City of Birmingham symphony orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian Chamber orchestra, baroque ensemble „Musica Humana“, „Camerata Klaipeda“, Klaipeda‘s Chamber orchestra, „Baltic guitar quartet“. Martynas Levickis (accordeon), Benjamin Clementine. Has won prizes in national and international competitions such as Gradus ad Parnassum, Olimpo musicale, Raimundas Katilius, Balys Dvarionas competitions. 2013-2016 a member of a piano quartet “Artro” which has won 3rd place in the XII international competition of Lithuanian chamber music compositions and Grand Prix in the XIV international competition “Music without limits”. Since 2013 November is a member of the Lithuanian National Symphony orchestra’s cello section. Since 2016 is a member of the contemporary music ensemble “Synaesthesis” which has won the best interpretation prize of the “Just composed” competition in ISA 2016 – international summer academy (Austria).
