London based wind trio. Recipients of The Fenton Arts Trust, RVW Trust and Britten-Pears Foundation awards.
Founded by friends at the Royal College of Music in 2009, the Gelachter Trio is establishing itself as a dynamic and versatile ensemble based in London. At RCM they received coaching from former-LSO bassoonist Martin Gatt, who describes the group as “having lively and enthusiastic musical personalities and combine to make enormously satisfying and enjoyable interpretations”. In 2010, they reached the semi-finals of the Royal Overseas League Competition and were awarded the June Emerson Launchpad Prize. They were finalists in the 2011 Tunnell Trust Award Scheme and the 2012 Tillet Trust Young Artists’ Platform. In 2014 the trio made their debut at St-Martin-in-the-Fields. Passionate about education work, the Trio has given workshops at Roedean School in Brighton and works for London based ‘Classical Babies’, providing interactive recitals for mums and toddlers. In October 2014 they gave a chamber music masterclass at Leeds College of Music and gave the world premiere of ‘Dovetail’ by Timothy Salter, having been awarded grants from the Britten-Pears Foundation, The Fenton Arts Trust and the RVW Trust to whom they are extremely grateful.
Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it.
