About Garcia Wind Ensemble

Wind Trio & Wind Duo
The Garcia Wind Ensemble are a vibrant new group who established in their second year of study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.

The Garcia Wind Ensemble is a semi-professional student led group, consisting of three chamber set-ups. These are: WindTrio (Flute, Clarinet & Bassoon), and Duo (Flute & Clarinet/Bassoon & Clarinet), rehearsing weekly and performing regularly in foyer concerts/outreach projects. We are currently available to perform at Weddings and functions and charge on a case-to-case basis. We are a vibrant, young, Classically influenced group who are training to become professional musicians at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. First established in September 2014, our initial purpose as a college ensemble was to prepare for our Chamber Performance exams (which take part in the second term). During our time together we have performed many popular pieces, but also enjoy commissioning new works, as well as arranging film and chart music. Jason Savory, a Postgraduate Composer at the music college, is our resident composer - who can provide new works for us to perform (on request of the client). We are especially passionate about Primary School education and enjoy workshop events/Q&A demonstrations within this environment. We have provided outreach performances for ‘Making Music Changing Lives – Feel Good Friday Sessions’ and Bryn Derri Primary School, and also fund-raise regularly for the charity ‘Music in Hospitals’, performing at the Heath Hospital and St. David’s Shopping Centre.
