About Etty

Etty is a freelance trumpet player who has recently moved back to London after completing her undergraduate degree at the RCS in Glasgow.

London

Etty was born in London, and grew up learning the cello with the Suzuki method and the trumpet at school. She attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department from the age of 13-18, when she then moved to Glasgow to study for her undergraduate degree as a principal study trumpeter at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland - receiving tuition from Mark O'Keeffe and Peter Franks. The highlight of her time in Scotland was being awarded the BBC SSO Mentoring Scheme in her third year, which culminated in joining the orchestra on tour in India in April 2014. Having completed her degree, Etty has now moved back to London, and will be one of the trumpeters in the Southbank Sinfonia starting in January 2016. Etty continued learning the cello at the RCS as a second study instrument, and is keen to continue playing in any capacity around her trumpet work.
