Emily Griggs

Emily began playing the cello during her childhood and developed a love of orchestral music through her participation in Harrow Young Musicians. It was here that she began learning the double bass, which eventually became her main instrument. She reached grade 7 on both cello and double bass, before focusing her attention on training for her career. Emily is a primary school teacher and currently holds the position of music coordinator in her school, where she enjoys running a choir and orchestra. In her spare time, she is a regular member of Ealing Symphony Orchestra and London Doctor's Orchestra and Choir. Within these ensembles, Emily has had the opportunity to play a variety of repertoire. Emily has recently branched out into theatre productions. Her bass has five strings.
