Performance with Jazz With Us
I can’t express enough how happy we are that we choose this band. They made my mums surprise 60th birthday party a night to remember! They were extremely professional & listened to our requests prior to the event & excelled our expectations on the night. We gave them a playlist of my mums favourite songs to incorporate in the night & they put their own twist on the songs so they fit perfectly with the 1920s party theme. The whole room was up & dancing & they created an amazing atmosphere. They are so versatile and extremely talented that I would definitely use them again for any future event. All the guests raved about them and said what a wonderful night they had. Thanks again Jess, her family & friends x
After studying the guitar and flute at the world-renowned Chetham's School of Music for two years, 19 year old Emily Roberts now studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Having picked up the guitar when she was nine years old, Emily was initially inspired by Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton, but became inthralled by jazz and classical music by the age of 16. Whilst studying at Chetham's, Emily had many opportunities to play with various ensembles, such as the Chetham's Big Band, alongside being a member of the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra. The orchestra recently toured Northern Italy in August 2016, and played with Eric Marienthal at the Wigan International Jazz Festival. In summer 2017 she has been given the fantastic opportunity to cover for the West End Olivier award-winning production 'Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour' at the Duke of York's Theatre. Venues Emily has recently played at include the Royal Festival Hall with the Women of the World Orchestra, the Barbican Concert Hall with the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra and Chorus, and Band on the Wall with Chetham's Big Band. Emily plays a one of forty Suhr Korina Quilt guitar and a Gibson ES-275.
