ELLI SPACKOVA was born in London but spent her early childhood in the Czech Republic, where she began the piano at the age of three. She studied in London at the Royal Academy of Music with Frank Wibaut and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Joan Havill. After graduating she continued her studies in Paris with the world renowned Madame Yvonne Loriod-Messiaen, with whom she studied contemporary music extensively as well as traditional repertoire. She has given many solo and chamber performances in London and around Britain, as well as in France, Germany and the Czech Republic, and was a prizewinner at the Karic International Piano Competition. She has also given concerts arranged by the Concordia Foundation at St Martin-in-the-Fields and St. James' Piccadilly, and the Liszt Society, and in festivals and masterclasses both in Britain and abroad, including the Brighton and Regent Hall festivals, the "Radolfzell Sommerakademie" in Germany with Professor Klaus Schilde and the Alberto Portugheis Steinway Hall International Summer Masterclasses. Since returning from Paris she performs as a soloist and a chamber musician, and has recently become part of the "ClimateKeys" organisation, founded by Lola Perrin, to raise awareness and encourage positive solutions to climate change.
