Accompanist, repetiteur, pianist, teacher
Born in Tunbridge Wells, Ella is now in her third year at the RWCMD studying piano under Mei Yi Foo. Here she has enjoyed masterclasses with Peter Jablonski, Simon Lepper, Llyr Williams, Charles Owen, Cordelia Williams, James Kirby, Kathryn Harries and John Fisher and has performed in the Dora Stouzker Hall as a soloist, accompanist, piano duo and orchestral player. Other venues include St David’s Hall; St George’s Bristol; the Riverfront, Newport; Porthcawl Grand Pavilion; Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells; the Vanguard Centre, Caerphilly; operatic tours of Wales, England and the Isle of Skye; and Glansevern Hall, where she organised an opera gala for Mid Wales Opera. Ella developed an interest in opera when she played piano and celeste in the orchestra for Wild Swan Opera’s production of The Turn of the Screw by Britten in 2014, and she has since worked as a repetiteur for Opera’r Ddraig, Bute Park Opera, Operasonic and for the college productions under conductors David Jones and Carlo Rizzi. Outside of opera, Ella regularly gives song recitals with singers and was thrilled to be awarded the Bryan Davies Accompaniment Prize 2016. She also performs for Live Music Now with tenor Tom Smith, enabling her to deliver music to the wider community.
