Eleanor Janes is a versatile soprano performing a wide range of repertoire, with regular performances around London and the UK. She currently studies with Theresa Goble, and has recently gained a Master of Music degree, graduating with distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied with Laureen Livingstone. Recent operatic performances include Yum Yum (The Mikado) with Park Opera, Ilia (Idomeneo) and Nannetta (Falstaff) both with Italian Opera School, First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) with Weimar Lyric Opera Studio and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with Co-Opera. Eleanor has also performed with Opera Project, Blackheath Hall Opera, Hampstead Garden Opera, Go Opera and Classical Opera. Alongside pianist, Clare Simmonds, Eleanor has recently been selected to take part in the Oxford Lieder Master Course lead by renowned pianist Roger Vignoles. Eleanor has performed several recitals throughout London, most recently at The Old Naval Chapel, Blackheath Halls and Faversham Assembly Rooms. Eleanor has enjoyed notable success at many competitions, most recently being selected as a finalist at the Elisabeth Schumann Lieder and Dean and Chadlington Singing Competition, and also as a semi-finalist of Trinity Laban Soloist Competition. Recent solo oratorio performances include Gloria (Vivaldi); St. John Passion, Magnificat (Bach); Messiah, Dixit Dominus (Handel); Requiem (Mozart); Requiem (Fauré); Negro Spirituals (Tippet). She has performed with The London Chorus, Blackheath Chorus and Ad Solem, and is currently a member of the Student Singer Scheme with the Royal Philharmonia Chorus. With a passion for performing new works Eleanor has collaborated with several young composers, most recently with the award winning British composer, Chris Roe. Eleanor was a member of the Contemporary Music Group at Trinity Laban and hopes to continue working with contemporary composers.
