Edson Gondim was born in Bahia, Brasil and discovered music at a very early age. His professional drumming and percussion career took off and by 18 years old he was playing in Carnival and with well know bands. He appeared on TV shows after he began travelling around Brasil playing with professional musicians. In Sao Paulo he recorded live music, supporting famous bands. In 2004, Edson moved to Europe. His first stop was Portugal where he signed a contract as director musician and produced 3 CD’s whilst working for the NZ production company. He was part of the musical ‘Opera Do Malandro’ composed by Chico Buarque. He moved to London in 2008, spreading his love of Brasilian music, in particular samba; playing in top Brasilian nightclubs. He created the band ‘Samba Boss’ and went on to produce the musical ‘O Boteco E O Malandro’ shown at The Coronet. Edson Gondim is an experienced musician with his own unique style. He has established a solid reputation within the Brasilian music scene. In 2017 Edson created and produced his solo album ‘Talk of Angels’ which showcases his multiple skills and wide genre of music.
